Bone & Shadow

This ongoing series explores the quiet persistence of the natural world through the preserved remains of these creatures. Each skull rendered in earth washed watercolor with hues of rust, ochre, violet and bone tells a story of life and loss, beauty and brutality. Each of the pieces is a still life painted from my private collection of skulls.

One piece from this series has already found a home, the others remain waiting to speak.
