Rodeo Ink
This collection explores the raw energy, ritual and reckoning of the American rodeo. captured in tattoo ink.
Each piece in this series is rendered monochromatically. the choice to use tattoo ink was deliberate as becoming a tattoo artist was my first serious step into art as a profession. Though my time as a tattoo artist was cut short by chronic nerve pain, the medium remains deeply personal to me.
The images depict classic rodeo events such as bronc riders mid buck, bull riders gripping hard against gravity and instinct, dust and motion suspended in time. A single bright color shifts the focus to the form, tension and the contrast between control and chaos. These works are not just sports but a study in resilience. The rodeo is a ritual of grit, performance and risk. Each image is both a nod to Western tradition and a reflection of my own creative endurance through pain we carry on until victory.
